A world rooted in menstrual equity
where everyone can have a
Safe Menstrual Cycle.
Campaign/Project Overview
Safe Cycle by Feminitt is a menstrual equity project geared toward ending period poverty and mainstreaming menstrual health education for all.
At Feminitt Caribbean, we recognise that period poverty is not simply the inability to afford safe period products but it also entails a lack of menstrual health education, myths and stigma about menstruation and inadequate WASH facilities.
Break the Stigma: Pass the Pad
is a campaign advocating for free menstrual products and menstrual health education for school-aged students so that they can enjoy a dignified menstruation.
The Break the Stigma Pass the Pad campaign advocates for:
Menstrual Health Education through HFLE: Menstrual Health Education is plays a crucial role in ending period poverty as it teaches young people about their menstrual cycles, menstrual health management, wellbeing, and how to care for each other free from harm and discrimination.
Menstrual Health Education also debunks myths and stigma about menstruation. When young people receive menstrual health education, they can become more comfortable in their bodies and are better equipped to ask for support when needed.
Menstrual Equity Act:
A Menstrual Equity Act mandates the state to provide free period products in designated spaces. Putting menstrual equity into national legislations helps to affirm the commitment to ending period poverty at a country level improving access to period products.
